Get trucking compliance done. DOT to IFTA to drug consortium.

Interstate trucking requires a stack of federal and state registrations: DOT number (USDOT), MC authority (operating authority), UCR (Unified Carrier Registration in all states), IFTA (fuel tax across states), IRP (apportioned plates across states), and drug and alcohol consortium enrollment. Each has its own application, deadlines, and renewals. We handle the full compliance stack.

FAQ

About the Transportation Compliance Service.

Do I need a DOT number?
Yes if you operate a commercial vehicle interstate over 10,000 lbs GVWR. Or interstate commercial transport of hazmat, passengers (8+), or commercial property. Some states (CA, MD, others) require intrastate DOT too.
DOT vs. MC?
DOT: federal carrier identification (everyone). MC: federal operating authority (for-hire carriers transporting cargo or passengers). Private fleets need DOT but not MC.
What is IFTA?
International Fuel Tax Agreement. Lets multi-state carriers file one combined fuel tax return instead of separately in each state. Quarterly returns covering 48 US states + 10 Canadian provinces. Required for vehicles 26,001+ lbs GVWR crossing state lines.
What is IRP?
International Registration Plan. Lets multi-state carriers register with one state for plates that work in all member states. Registration fees apportioned by mileage. Required for vehicles 26,001+ lbs GVWR crossing state lines.
What is the drug consortium?
FMCSA requires CDL drivers to be in a random testing pool. Third-party consortia administer the testing. Plus Clearinghouse registration for checking driver history. We enroll you in a consortium and handle Clearinghouse setup.
What about safety ratings?
FMCSA assigns safety ratings (Satisfactory, Conditional, Unsatisfactory) based on inspections. Unsatisfactory triggers shutdown. We help maintain documentation; do not handle on-road safety operations (your job).
