01Our commitment
File.Business is committed to making our Services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as published by the W3C, and to comply with applicable laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the EU Accessibility Act.
02Standards
The Services are designed against the following standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA across web and mobile
- ARIA 1.2 for dynamic content and rich interactions
- EN 301 549 (European harmonized standard) for our EU/EEA users
- VPAT 2.4 / ITI 508 reports available on request for US federal procurement
03Accessibility features
- Full keyboard navigation across the application; visible focus indicators
- Screen reader compatibility with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
- Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and skip-to-content links
- Color contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components
- Resizable text up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Captions and transcripts for product videos
- Reduced-motion preference respected via
prefers-reduced-motion - Form labels, error messages, and instructions clearly associated with inputs
- Alternative text for all meaningful images
04Testing & audits
We test our products with:
- Automated scanning (axe, Pa11y) on every release
- Manual screen-reader testing on critical flows
- Third-party accessibility audits annually
- User testing with people who rely on assistive technologies
We acknowledge that automated tools cannot catch all issues. Known gaps and our remediation plan are documented internally and reviewed quarterly.
05Known limitations
Some areas may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA in full:
- Complex tabular reports may have keyboard ergonomics that can be improved (in progress)
- Some legacy customer-uploaded documents may not be fully accessible; we provide alternate-text helpers in the document vault
- PDFs generated from filings are tagged but third-party signing flows may rely on partner accessibility
If you encounter a barrier we have not listed, please tell us.
