- Subscriptions: cancel anytime, no pro-rated refund for the current period.
- One-time service fees: full refund if requested within 7 days and we have not yet submitted to a state agency.
- State filing fees: non-refundable once paid to the state.
- Annual plan downgrade: the price difference is credited to your account for future use.
02Subscription cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a billing cycle.
If you cancel within 14 days of your first subscription purchase, we will issue a full refund. This 14-day window applies once per customer.
03One-time service fees
For paid one-time services (formation, BOI, foreign qualification, amendments, trademark, etc.), the refund policy depends on the stage of work.

04Third-party fees
Some services involve third-party costs (USPTO trademark fees, domain registration, payment processing). Those fees are passed through at cost and are refundable only to the extent the third party itself refunds them.
05How to request a refund
Email billing@file.business from the email address associated with your account. Include the order number or invoice number and the reason for the request. We respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
