What it is

Your address on the web, registered right.

A domain name is the address customers type to find your business. It's leased annually from a registry through a registrar, and we're an ICANN-accredited registrar, so you register at wholesale plus a small management fee, not the markup the consumer registrars charge.

Two things matter: the name itself, and the privacy of the registration. Every domain owner is in the public WHOIS database by default, which puts home addresses and personal phone numbers on the open internet. We include WHOIS privacy on every domain at no extra cost.

Beyond the registration, a domain needs DNS records to actually do anything, A records for your site, MX for email, TXT for SPF and DKIM. Our dashboard manages all of them in one place and connects to your File.Business email, website, and verification automatically.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is the domain really free for the first year, and what does it cost after?
Yes. Register a domain when you form your company with us and we cover the first year's registry fee, WHOIS privacy included. From year two it renews at our wholesale cost plus a small management fee, no marketing markup and no surprise "renewal price" hike, which is where the big registrars quietly make their money. For a typical .com that's roughly $10-$12 a year; premium and specialty extensions vary, and the exact renewal price is always shown before you're charged.
Can I transfer a domain I already own to File.Business?
Yes, and inbound transfers are free. Unlock the domain at your current registrar and grab its authorization (EPP) code, the transfer takes about 5-7 days to complete (a registry rule, not ours) and adds a full year to your registration at no extra charge. Your existing DNS and email keep working the whole time, so there's no downtime, and once it lands you manage it next to your email, site, and the rest of your Business OS.
What exactly is WHOIS privacy, and is it really free on every domain?
Every registration is published in the public WHOIS database by default, your name, home address, email, and phone become searchable by anyone, which is exactly how a lot of spam and scam mail begins. WHOIS privacy swaps those details for proxy contact information while you remain the legal owner with full control. We include it free on every domain, every year, not as the paid add-on most registrars upsell at checkout and again at renewal.
Which domain extensions (TLDs) can I register?
200+, including .com, .co, .io, .net, .org, .ai, .app, .store, and .shop, the newer branded extensions, and country codes like .us, .uk, .ca, .de, and .au. If the .com is taken, the search suggests strong alternatives, and BosAI flags names that conflict with your registered entity so you don't pick one you can't safely use.
How does connecting email to the domain work?
One click in your dashboard writes the right MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records so email starts working the same day, no DNS knowledge required. Pair it with Business Email and you're sending from [email protected], landing in the inbox rather than spam, within minutes.
Will my domain auto-renew, and how are reminders handled?
Auto-renew is on by default so a domain never lapses because a card expired or an email got missed, and you can turn it off any time. Either way we send renewal reminders at 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration, and if a domain ever does slip past its date, most extensions have a grace and redemption period during which you can still recover it.
Can I register from outside the US, including country-code domains?
Yes. You can register US and international domains from anywhere in the world, and we don't require a US payment method or address, the same as the rest of the platform, which is built for founders forming US companies from abroad. A few country-code domains require a local presence in that country; we tell you up front before you commit.
